Profiler Units

Superior surface,
maximum yield

Profiler units precisely shape the contours of side boards by removing waney edges while simultaneously creating premium-quality surfaces.

Combined milling and sawing tools ensure high dimensional accuracy and flexible adjustment to a wide range of timber profiles.

Modern drive and positioning systems enable precise tool control.

This allows the efficient processing of unsorted timber grades as well as yield-optimised cutting strategies. This allows the efficient processing of unsorted timber grades as well as yield-optimised cutting strategies.

Combined Tool Technology

Tool Technology

For each corner, a patented tool unit consisting of a stepped profiler head and a saw blade arranged at 90° within the same plane ensures tear-free cutting surfaces.

Synchronous tool operation is achieved by a specially developed high-performance gearbox. This also enables an interleaved arrangement of the tools.

Individual Adjustability

Flexible Adjustment

The tool units on each side of the machine can pivot around a common axis in or against the conveying direction while simultaneously moving vertically.

The vertical movement is path-controlled by hydraulic servo cylinders. This allows diagonal profiling of side boards relative to the log axis while taking stem shape into account. The yield achieved in this way corresponds to that of a trimming line.

Following the Curve

Active Curve Following

An integrated vertical swivel axis allows the cutter units on both sides of the machine to pivot independently of each other.

This machine configuration is therefore ideally suited for active curve-following cutting.

Maintenance During Production

NONstop Concept

The NONstop concept enables production to continue while maintenance work is carried out simultaneously.
Tools can be changed on one profiling unit while the remainder of the line continues processing timber.

Each profiling unit remains freely accessible, allowing all tools to be replaced step by step.

VPM

The VPM profiling unit is characterised by highly flexible tool positioning. Through swivelling and tilting movements, curve-following cuts as well as diagonal or conical side board profiling can be achieved.
The VPM profiling unit is characterised by highly flexible tool positioning.

To minimise adjustment times, moving mass is kept low – only the tool units move, not the complete machine.

Thanks to short adjustment times and an extremely compact tool design, minimal log gaps are achieved even when processing unsorted timber or using side board optimisation.

VPF

The VPF profiling unit profiles one side board on each side of a cant, with two milling heads on each side removing the waney-edged material.

With flexibly selectable cutter head variants, a range of by-products can be produced alongside side boards — from standard wood chips to feedstock for pellet production.

The independent adjustment of the milling heads in width and height also allows highly adaptable production, even with varying timber dimensions.
