Board Separator

Clean separation, conveyed with control

Board separators receive a package of sawn timber from a preceding saw unit and transport it longitudinally in the timber flow direction. During transport, the side boards on both outer sides are separated and transferred onto separate conveyor systems, such as transverse chain conveyors or belt conveyors.

The timber remaining on the main line continues in a straight path. This may consist of a cant, squared timber or multi-piece separated main products.

Board separators are a key conveyor component within integrated sawmill lines, as they have a major influence on the achievable throughput of the plant.

To meet a wide variety of requirements based on machine position and timber characteristics, several machine concepts are available. This ensures the optimum solution for efficient material flow in every application.

SEL

The SEL board separator is designed to separate side boards from multi-piece main products. Its patented operating principle ensures reliable separation without operational restrictions.

With feed speeds of up to 200 m/min, the side boards on the left and right side of the main timber package are separated successively.

Servo-hydraulic adjustment to different cross-sections is completed within very short cycle times, enabling operation with minimal timber gaps.

Thanks to its chain-free design, the SEL offers low wear and excellent ease of maintenance.

The combination of high functional reliability, unrestricted cutting patterns and short timber gaps makes the separator unique while significantly improving overall sawmill profitability.
