Chipper Canter
Precise Processing of Logs
Pre- and Post-Cut
Chipper canters are used for pre-cutting and post-cutting applications. In pre-cutting, two plane-parallel surfaces are created on the round log to produce a cant. In post-cutting, a squared timber product is produced from the cant – with maximum dimensional accuracy and outstanding surface quality.
benefits
Optimal preparation for downstream processes
Robust construction, high-quality cutter heads and linear guides
Reliable, precise and powerful surface finishing
High production output
Robust and Precise Machine Design
Mounted on a sturdy, torsion-resistant base frame, two machine head units support the cutter heads and their drive motors.
The cutter head units can be positioned electromechanically or servo-hydraulically via linear guide systems and hydraulically clamped when required.
This robust and precise construction ensures outstanding surface quality and precise lumber products.
Adaptable Cutter Heads
The cutter heads are designed for heavy-duty operation and exceptionally smooth running. Wood chips are discharged efficiently through the large chip openings integrated into the cutter heads.
Depending on cutting depth, the heads are available in two-stage or three-stage designs. The number of knives per stage is configured according to feed speed, rotational speed and the required chip length.
Depending on operating conditions, either saw rings or finishing knives can be used. Individually guided pressure plates integrated into the heads stabilise the log position and significantly improve dimensional accuracy of the finished product.
Ergonomic Tool Change
Tool changes can be carried out quickly, safely and conveniently on all models thanks to excellent accessibility and ergonomic machine design.
High-Quality Wood Chips
The wood chips generated during chipping can be adapted to specific customer requirements by retooling the cutter heads.
This ranges from premium chips for the pulp and paper industry to fine chips for pellet production.
