Perfectly Aligned
The turning device rotates cants and squared timber longitudinally by 90 degrees. The rotors are mounted in large roller bearings and housed within a height-adjustable frame.
Using a hydraulic servo cylinder for height adjustment, the rotor can be pre-positioned to the centre line of the timber when combined with a suitable measuring system.
During the turning process, the rotor is lifted together with the timber to prevent edge damage. The rotational movement of the rotors is controlled via motor-integrated encoders and monitored by external sensors.
Each rotor is equipped with a hydraulically driven pair of rollers. During longitudinal feed, these rollers are servo-hydraulically pressed against the timber to provide guidance and positive infeed. The rollers are pre-positioned according to the product dimensions, enabling high piece throughput.
benefits
Higher throughput with twin-rotor design
Precise rotation for maximum product quality and process reliability
Automatic height adjustment via hydraulic servo cylinderc
Reliable infeed through servo-hydraulically driven rollers
Alternating Rotor Operation
Turning units in this model range can be configured with either one or two independently driven rotors. When equipped with two rotors, they operate alternately, significantly increasing throughput.
Depending on production requirements, all timber can be turned in the same direction or in alternating directions.
Height Control
A hydraulic servo cylinder controls rotor height and prevents edge damage during the turning movement.
Reliable Monitoring
Rotational position is continuously monitored by inductive proximity switches, ensuring reliable process control.
Maximum Performance
The rotor is driven by an electric servo motor with external cooling fan, enabling extremely high cycle rates.
