RED FLEX
The RED FLEX is a chipper canter and circular saw line featuring reducer technology. Its space-saving Merry-Go-Round system delivers maximum productivity within a minimal footprint, while offering exceptional flexibility in processing logs into center products and side boards.
The side boards are produced with wane and subsequently conveyed to an edger.
In addition to the recirculation system, the line can be equipped with a secondary breakdown group for efficient processing of center cants. The secondary breakdown saw can be complemented by chipping and profiling units, enabling logs to be fully processed in a single pass.

3D Infeed Measurement
As with every LINCK plant, 3D infeed measurement forms the basis for value-optimised cutting, ensuring maximum recovery from every log.

A secondary breakdown group can be added for efficient, high-performance breakdown of the cant.
Production process
During the first pass, the chipper canter and circular saw group processes the log into a cant.
Based on LINCK’s proprietary evaluation of the 3D measurement data, the logs are rotated fully automatically at the chipper canter infeed, including mixed and alternating butt-end / top-end orientation.
The cant is transferred to the second pass via the return conveyor, while the unedged side boards are conveyed to the trimming line.
During the second pass, the cants are processed into scantlings and unedged side boards.
An additional 3D measuring system can optionally be installed upstream of the second pass to further optimise both main-product and side-board recovery.
Once all cants from the recirculation loop have been processed, the line automatically resumes feeding round timber.
To produce complex cutting patterns, this system also allows a third processing pass.
The recirculation system can be combined with a separate secondary breakdown group. Particularly when processing smaller-diameter logs, this configuration delivers high throughput while maintaining maximum cutting pattern flexibility.
After chipping and removal of the side boards, the remaining cant is conveyed to the secondary breakdown group, where it is re-centred, chipped, profiled and finally sawn to the required dimensions.
