Log Infeed

Our sawing lines stand for maximum cutting capacity and highest yield. The prerequisite for this is a continuous and perfectly coordinated supply of logs. This is exactly where our log infeed comes in: individually configurable with several infeed decks, separation stages and precise measurement.
The result is an optimally timed transfer to the saw line — with a precisely defined gap for a smooth and efficient production process.

Our optimization approach doesn't just start at the sawing line, but at the log yard. Here, the cutting patterns are consistently optimized according to the requirements of the saw line and the logs are sorted accordingly. This means that only optimally pre-classified logs with the appropriate dimensions reach the sawing line — logs with unsuitable dimensions are excluded even during pre-sorting.
The decisive step towards increasing the yield is therefore already taken at the log yard.

The result: maximum efficiency and yield through a consistently optimized value chain — from log yard to sawing line.

benefits

  • Log supply capacity from 200,000 to 1 million m³ of logs/year

  • Minimal log gaps

  • Optimizing the entire value chain

Measurement

3D Measurement

Each log passes through a 3D measuring system. The system transfers a complete outer contour model of every log to our optimisation software.

Based on this data, together with user-defined target dimensions for main products and side boards, we calculate a value-optimised cutting pattern.

The software also considers curvature, ovality and further shape deviations.

Continuous Value Chain

Value Chain

We integrate upstream processes into the complete sawmill value chain.

This allows log optimisation in the log yard to be directly controlled by our cutting patterns – resulting in genuine value optimisation.

Operation Mode Shifting

Reduced Log Gaps

Operation Mode Shifting (OMS) optimises log transport and feeding to the sawing line.

OMS prioritises the sequence of logs according to cutting patterns, ensuring that profiling and sawing units require minimal adjustment.

This results in minimum log gaps and maximum throughput.
